Ludacris on Martha Stewart Show today

So I woke up late this morning and flipped on the t.v. I was channel surfing and found a very fine man on The Martha Stewart Show. I rubbed my eyes and was like I'll be damned Ludacris has moved up, the brother is hanging with Martha Stewart. He is very articulate, and who ever styled him did a great job. It was funny to hear that Martha loves her some Rap music. Ludacris discussed his new upcoming movie, and cooked up a special Sea Bass dish. It was a cute show, he kept making fun of Martha taking too long to make her orgami box to cook her fish in. Looks like I will be visiting his restaurant Straits when I go back to Atlanta.

It’s official: Atlanta actor, rapper and budding restaurateur Chris Bridges, aka Ludacris, will unveil his new eatery at 793 Juniper St. in Midtown this April. In a release to Buzz on Wednesday, we were informed that Straits Restaurant, with a “modern Singaporean” menu, will debut at the site of the now-shuttered Spice. The concept is an extension of three successful California eateries with the same name run by chef/owner Chris Yeo. The former hairstylist turned chef is forming a partnership with Luda to bring the rapper’s favorite food to Atlantans.

NFL Player paralyzed from being shot 14 times

Jacksonville Jaguars OT, Richard Bernard Collier was shot earlier this month 14 times while waiting in car for 2 females with a teammate. The teammate was not injured.

Collier was diagnosed as being paralyzed by Dr. Andy Kerwin and his left leg had to be amputated.

Richard Collier is 26 and from Louisiana. It's sad to say that this young man will never walk again, and no suspects have been arrested.

Over 1,100 immigrants arrested during sweep in Ca.

SANTA ANA, California (AP) -- U.S. immigration authorities said Monday they arrested more than 1,150 people in California in a three-week sweep, the state's largest of its type since since 2003.The sweep targeted immigration violators including those who have ignored deportation orders or returned to the U.S. illegally after being deported.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Virginia Kice said it was the largest such action by fugitive enforcement teams in California since the squads were formed in 2003.

Kice said of the 1,157 immigrants arrested statewide, 595 had outstanding deportation orders and 346 had prior criminal convictions. Those arrested were from 34 countries, she said.The raids, which ended Saturday, produced 436 arrests in the San Francisco area, 420 in the Los Angeles area and 301 in the San Diego area.

In recent years, immigration officials have increased enforcement at factories, offices and homes.

Janet Jackson hospitalized

NEW YORK (AP) — A representative for Janet Jackson says the singer has been hospitalized after falling ill shortly before a concert.

According to statement released by W&W Public Relations, the singer canceled her concert in Montreal on Monday after she "got suddenly ill" during her sound check and had to be rushed to the hospital just before show time.

The statement says Jackson is being monitored at the hospital and hopes to reschedule the show. No further information was given about Jackson's condition

Gas shortage in the Southeast

ATLANTA (AP) — Motorists are rising before dawn so they can be at the filling station when the delivery truck arrives. Some are skipping work or telecommuting. Others are taking the extreme step — for Atlanta — of switching to public transportation.

Across a section of the South, a hurricane-induced gasoline shortage that was expected to last only a few days is dragging into its third week, and experts say it could persist into mid-October.

The Atlanta area has been hit particularly hard, along with Nashville and western North Carolina.Those lucky enough to find gas are paying more than drivers elsewhere around the country."I've used up gas just looking for gas," said Larry Jenkins, a construction worker who pulled his red pickup truck into a Citgo station in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday. The sign said $3.99 a gallon, but the pumps were closed.

Many filling stations in the area have not had gas for days."Right now, I'll pay anything for gas," Jenkins said. "I don't care if it's $5 or $6 a gallon. I need it."The shortage started with the one-two punch of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, which shut down refineries along the Gulf Coast. Now, more than two weeks after Ike, many refineries are still making fuel at reduced levels.

While other parts of the country get gasoline from a variety of domestic and overseas sources, the Southeast relies heavily on two pipelines that carry fuel from the Gulf of Mexico. Because the gasoline moves at just 3 to 5 mph, it can take up to 10 days to reach Atlanta.A tendency among panicky drivers in the hardest-hit areas to top off their tanks every time they pass an open station has only made matters worse."Fuel is coming back into the system, but as soon as it comes in, it's being sucked back out by consumers who are afraid the shortage is going to continue," said Ben Brockwell of the Oil Price Information Service in Wall, N.J.

In the meantime, government agencies have postponed public hearings, community colleges have canceled classes, and some companies have provided vans for carpooling or encouraged employees to work from home.Hours-long lines, "No gas" signs and plastic bags covering fuel-pump nozzles are familiar sights around Atlanta, where drivers have become intimately familiar with fuel delivery schedules, rising before daybreak when they know gas is coming to a certain station.

"I was just in Atlanta yesterday. There is no gasoline in Atlanta, in Charlotte, in Chattanooga. It's like a Third World country," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday on ABC.Police officers and a security guard were on hand to manage the flow of cars at a downtown Atlanta gas station around midday Monday.

Kathy Burdett, 49, of Forest Park, said the shortage ruined her weekend plans to visit Stone Mountain with out-of-town guests."I didn't go anywhere all weekend and we kept close to home," said Burdett, who had to hunt for the gasoline her friends needed to make it home to Tennessee.

The average price for regular gas Monday was $3.94 per gallon in Georgia, 30 cents higher than the national average, according to the AAA. Motorists were paying an average of $3.89 a gallon Monday in North Carolina and $3.80 in South Carolina

The damage from a “significant fire” at the Fulton County estate of Atlanta rapper Ludacris was limited to his pool house, and no one was injured.
The recording artist, whose name is Christopher Bridges, was out of town at the time. A family member was in the basement of the main residence when the fire started, said Fulton County Fire Department spokesman Gregory Chambers.

But it was a neighbor on DeMooney Road near College Park in south Fulton who initially reported the blaze, Chambers said. The alarm system in the rapper’s home was eventually triggered, alerting Ludacris’ relative.
The fire — which destroyed the pool house — was put out within 30 minutes, Chambers said. He said the pool house was larger than most homes.
A fire investigator was on the scene by 11:30 p.m. No cause for the blaze was immediately identified.

Who knew she didn't drink? lol Ciara's photoshoot included a few shots that presented her in the nude. Ciara is disputing the fact that she did the pics nude. Ciara states Vibe airbrushed her underwear off of her body in the pics. The people at Vibe states that it was Ciaras idea to do a nude shoot. So who's idea was it????? I personally don't care. Although Ciara has a nice body... Vibe wasn't the right mag for these pics... try King, XXL, or Playboy. Don't get me wrong I still love me some Ciara.

Travis Barker and DJ M Critically injured in plane crash

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM were critically injured in a fiery Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane headed for Van Nuys, Calif., went off a runway, through a fence and crashed on a nearby road, officials said.

Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia, hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said.

Two other passengers and two crew members died, said the National Transportation Safety Board. Their identities were not immediately available.

At the crash site Saturday, the air was still heavy with the odor of jet fuel. A trail of black soot led off a runway, across a five-lane road next to the airport and up an embankment. The nose of the aircraft was gone and the roof was missing from two-thirds of the charred plane.

Barker and Goldstein had performed together under the name TRVSDJ-AM at a free concert in Columbia on Friday night.

Ok readers, this may be one of my longest posts ever. I am not sure how long blogger will allow but this by far will be the Queen of all posts. As some of you know I am one of the biggest Amel Larrieux fans ever. I have flown thousands of miles just to see her perform, and I can't wait to do that over and over again. It's not good to idolize people, but I admire the hell out of this woman. She is a wife (Laru-husband), mother (to Sky and Sanji-Rei), daughter, and a friend to us @ Blisslife. Amel Larrieux was one half of the amazing group Groove Theory... and Bryce Wilson was the other half. It's sad that they split, but i'm kind of happy because she has put out some great solo c.d.'s. lol What a contradiction. When I listen to Amel's music it takes me to another place. From For Real to Bravebird to Sweet Misery, to Congo...... I just travel to many different places. I got the chance to hold hands with Amel while singing one of my favorite songs, Dear to me, at the Blue Note in NY. What a night! Noooo I didn't get pics but I didn't need to I have that scene forever embeded in my memory. : ) Amel Larrieux is one of the most humble celebs that you will ever meet in life. Another rapper arrested????

Rapper Webbie was arrested today after a high speed police chase. Webbie was charged with felony eluding, driving under the influence and misdemeanor possession of marijuana after a high-speed police chase in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Webbie, real name Webster Gradney Jr., was being pulled over by the police in a 2009 Dodge Challenger for a traffic violation, but for some reason he didn't feel like stopping. Webbie's vehicle did come into contact with another vehicle while trying to outrun the cops. He was eventually arrested and is LOCKED UP. SMH When will they learn?

I am really feeling Ms. Hudson these days and I am happy to find out that she is recently engaged.... again. She was once engaged to her high school sweetheart.

The Oscar winner is engaged to I Love New York 2 star David "Punk" Otunga, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Otunga, a Harvard Law grad who has worked with Rev. Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, popped the question on her 27th birthday.The two have been dating for less than a year.

"I am very happy," Hudson told Usmagazine.com last month at a Dove event. "I don't think I have ever been happier."

Rapper Kanye West and his road manager were arrested this morning at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism after they confronted two paparazzi and smashed the men's cameras, authorities said.

The incident took place about 7:50 a.m. outside the passenger security screening area in Terminal 4, said LAX spokeswoman Nancy Castles.Initial reports said the incident involved "a commercial photographer, 'paparazzi' " and a camera worth more than $10,000, according to Castles.Airport police said the confrontation started when a videographer from TMZ, the celebrity gossip website, and a still photographer from a paparazzi agency approached West and his road manager, Don Crowley, on the curb outside the terminal. Some of you may remember this cute face. He goes by the name of Chaz Lamar Shepherd. Chaz was born Oct. 26, 1977 in Philadelphia, Pa. He has been seen on numerous t.v. shows such as: The Game, The Parkers, Moesha, and appeared in movies.... Set it off and The Temptations. Chaz had the pleasure of acting alongside Fantasia Barrino in the Broadway play The Color Purple as Harpo. Chaz is breaking out of acting by pursuing a music career.
